Ballet

Ballet Beginner/Intermediate (Ballet A, 7& up)

July 22-25 5:00-6:30pm

This camp is designed for the child just beginning Ballet or has completed 1-2 year(s) of Ballet training, ages 7 & up. We will teach the basics of Ballet using Cecchetti techniques. This camp compliments Ohana Dance Company Ballet A class. Your child will learn a short dance to perform for you the last day, last 10 minutes of class.

Dress Code: Leotard (any color), light pink tights, Ballet shoes, Ballet skirt (optional) & water bottle

Hair: up in a tidy bun

Ballet Advanced  (Ballet D/Advanced)

July 22-25 7:30-9pm

This camp is designed for the child who has 6 or more years of Ballet training, ages 13 & up. We will continue to work on basics with a more in depth teachings of Cecchetti techniques. This camp compliments Ohana Dance Company Ballet D & Advanced Ballet classes. Your child will learn a short dance/variation to perform for you the last day, last 10 minutes of class.

Dress Code: Leotard (any color), light pink tights, Ballet shoes, Ballet skirt (optional) & water bottle

Hair: up in a tidy bun

Hip-Hop

Hip-Hop

July 22-25 6:30-7:30pm

This camp is designed for the child just beginning Hip-Hop or has completed 1-2 year(s) of Hip-Hop training, ages 7 & up. We will teach basic Hip-Hop techniques & incorporate them in choreography. This camp compliments Ohana Dance Company Hip-Hop  A class. Your child will learn a short dance to perform for you the last day, last 10 minutes of class.

Dress Code: Black leggings or athletic pants, CLEAN Converse type shoes, Tank top or tee shirt (no crop top of any kind) & water bottle

Hair: up in a ponytail


Jazz Choreography Intermediate (Jazz B/C)

July 22-15 5-6:30pm

This camp is designed for the child who has 3 or more years of Jazz training, ages 10 & up. We will brush up on basics of Jazz & get more in depth using Al Gilbert Jazz techniques. This camp compliments Ohana Dance Company Jazz B & Jazz C classes. Your child will learn a short dance with use of props to perform for you the last day, last 10 minutes of class.

Dress Code: Tank top or Tee Shirt (no crop tops), Black leggings or capris (no booty shorts), Jazz shoes & water bottle

Hair: pulled up away from face (ponytail(s), Braid(s) or Bun)

Jazz Advanced (Jazz D/Advanced Jazz)

Musical Theatre

July 15-18 7-9pm

We will teach Choreography, play theatre games & develop their own character for the song “Dentist” from Little Shop of Horrors..This camp compliments Ohana Dance Company’s Advanced Musical Theatre class. Your child will learn a short dance to perform for you the last day, last 10 minutes of class.

Dress Code: Black leggings or athletic pants, Character shoes or Jazz shoes, Tank top or tee shirt (no crop top of any kind) & water bottle

Hair: up in a ponytail, or pulled away from face

Preschool/Kinder

July 15-18 Theme: Mickey & Friends 4:30-5:30pm

July 22-25 Theme: Lion King 6:30-7:30pm

This camp is designed to give your Kindergarten aged child (5-6 years old) a little taste of dance & further their dance abilities. Your child will learn a little tap, ballet & Creative Movement. Your child will learn to keep rhythm with tap, balance with Ballet & different ways to move with Creative Movement. This camp compliments Ohana Dance Company’s Kinder Tap & Ballet class. Your child will learn a short dance to perform for you the last day, last 10 minutes of class.

Dress Code: Tank Top or Tee Shirt, Shorts or skort, Tap shoes, Ballet shoes & water bottle

Hair: pulled away from face (ponytail(s), Braid(s) or Bun)

-We have a few pairs of shoes available to borrow in our used shoes- Just ask

Tap Intermediate (Tap B, Tap C, ages 9 & up)

July 15-18 7-8:30pm

This camp is designed for the child who has 2 or 3 years of tap, ages 9 & up. We will learn new tap steps & brush up basics of Tap using Al Gilbert Tap techniques. This camp compliments Ohana Dance Company Tap B and Tap C classes. Your child will learn a short dance to perform for you the last day, last 10 minutes of class.

Dress Code: Tank Top or Tee shirt (no crop tops), black Leggings or Capris (no booty shorts), Tap shoes & water  bottle

Tap Advanced (Tap D, Advanced Tap, ages 12 & up)

July 15-18 4:30-6pm

This camp is designed for the child who has 5 or more years of tap, ages 12 & up. We will learn new tap steps & brush up basics of Tap using Al Gilbert Tap techniques. This camp compliments Ohana Dance Company Tap D and Advanced Tap classes. Your child will learn a short dance to perform for you the last day, last 10 minutes of class.

Dress Code: Tank Top or Tee shirt (no crop tops), black Leggings or Capris (no booty shorts), Tap shoes & water  bottle

Assistant class

July 15-18 6-7pm

July 22-25 6:30-7:30pm

You need to be invited to this class.

You are required to take 1 week of Assistants class, 2 are recommended, this Summer to assist in a class this next dance year (September 2019 – May 2020). We will talk about how assistants should work with the teacher, demonstrate & conduct themselves in class. In addition, Miss Sara will teach how to count music to choreograph songs. This will be the only classes for you to take to be an assistant this year. Taking this class will qualify you to be an assistant for 2019-2020 dance year. If you don’t take this class you may not assist for 2019-2020 dance year.

You will receive an Ohana Dance Company Assistant Certificate at the end of the 2 weeks.
